The Come Up: 005
This week we hooked up with our old friends at Odo for the latest iteration of The Come Up. Off the back of their takeover of Bristol’s infamous Old Crown Courts - and to give you a taste of what you can expect from their next venture - we picked their sizable brains for a playlist guaranteed to blow off those November cobwebs, blending the best of House and Techno as one of Bristol’s finest purveyors of night-time naughtiness. Opening up is yet another stellar track from Dutch grandmaster Tom Trago, a banger from Medlar and the brilliant Jaques Renault edit of HNNY’s Hotline Riddim. Moving forward in typical Odo style, we are treated to a full spectrum of tunes from across the board, including features from Makam, CC favourite Andy Hart and the first non-Detroit artist ever to sign to Moodymann’s Mahogani Music, Dan Shake, before letting the inimitable William Onyeabor play us out into the sunshine. If you like what you hear, get yourself down to Motion on the 20th January to catch the boys do their business: you won’t be disappointed!
